Acme is located on the shore of East Grand Traverse Bay about 10 miles northeast of Traverse City. It was founded by L.S. Hoxsie in the 1850’s, who built a sawmill on Acme Creek, it's best known for the huge Grand Traverse Resort and Spa and the Vasa Trail system, which hosts the annual North American Vasa ski race in February.
